Farmers Producers Organization (FPO)

Backdrop

National vision about the FPOs is to build a prosperous and sustainable agriculture sector by promoting and supporting member-owned Producer Organizations, that enable farmers to enhance productivity through efficient, cost-effective and sustainable resource use and realize higher returns for their produce, through collective action supported by the government, and fruitful collaboration with academia, research agencies, civil society and the private sector.

With an object of building and promotion of Farmers Producer Organization, NABARD has sanctioned two FPOs to SHARP NGO under PRODUCE Fund. Both of These FPOs were registered under company Act.

Prasanna Farmers Producer Company Ltd

covering of 3 watershed villages viz., Ananatharam, Seetharampuram & Brahmanapalli of Gundala mandal and Theryala of Motakondur mandal fall in Yadadri Bhongir (erstwhile Nalgonda).

SusthiraFarmers Producer Company Ltd

Covering 3 watershed villages viz., Devarampalli, Dhanvada and Bayyaram of Kataram mandal fall in Jayashankar Bhupalapalli district (erstwhile Karimnagar).

Navyasri Farmer Producer Company Ltd

Covering of 5 villages viz., Moripirala,Kalvapally,Singaram,Modukgukunra and Chinnagudem of Athmakur (m) mandal in Yadadri Bhongir (erstwhile Nalgonda).

Chada Farmer Producer Company Ltd

Covering of 5 villages viz., Chada,Muttireddyguedem,Katepally,Kondapuram and Chandepally of Motakondur mandal in Yadadri Bhongir (erstwhile Nalgonda).

Major achievements

  • Took the farmers of FPO for trainings cum exposure on different thematically areas.

  • Organized the orientation programmes to increase the share capital.

  • Prepared the Business Development Plan for FOPs.

  • Promoted the guide farmers for dissemination of FPO concept and to improve the business profits.

  • A cumulative business of about 28 lakhs is achieved till now.

  • All Licenses are renewed regarding Seeds, Fertilizer and pesticides are taken from Department of agriculture.
